1) This is a very exciting, noisy, and stimulating time, and at times it will be too much for a young baby, so take time out for them to calm.
2) Your family will be excited to meet your baby and want lots of cuddles but this can be very unsettling for a young baby, being passed from person to person, all the different perfumes and smells around too, may make a content baby have a personality transplant! Keep the cuddles to a minimum with breaks back with mum inbetween.
3) Christmas is not a good time to try introducing something new, whether it is weaning, sleep training or any other new routine. No matter how hard you are pressured by family or friends.
And lastly, remember, you know your baby best and family, although they may mean well, do not always know whats right for you or your baby. Its best to thank them for their advice, and then go and do what you feel is right.
